When its not raining....from the roof I practice from a stand, on the ground. I like getting in my stand/roof and having someone on the ground (when I am not watching) relocating my deer at different angles and yardage. This way it gives memore practiceto judge distance/shot placement.

Crutch,
The roof'sa good idea, and I'd do that if my roof weren't 12x12 pitch. I'd get one movingshot off before I slid off the bottom. I practice sitting and standing, both on the ground and from an old ladder stand. I like to practice in the wind also. Sure is hard to hold the bow steady sometimes, but it's good practice.

I like to play "HORSE" w/ my friends when we shoot... It really sparks some crazy shots... Including the common "one footed - draw and shoot",the "I'd never dream of taking a shot this far",and thescary "shoot through so much brush you'll probably never see the arrow again".

We once discussed shooting through your legs... but were afraid somethings could get caught in the string [:-]

It may seem like just fun, but it definately builds your confidence when in the field..

When I go to the 3D range , I stand and shoot except for when they have a target that you have to sit and shoot.
When I practice at home in my backyard , I shoot every way possiable sitting , standing , kneeling and even in a treestand I even got up on the roof of my garage.

Most of the time standing there. As the season nears I shoot from a stand in my yard(also stndaing up). Rarely do I practice from a sitting position. I don't like shooting that way. The only time I practiced it was for turkeys.

I do most of my practice from the ground, but when it gets close to season opener I shoot some from a tree.
