dont get one and if you do get that kind of thing get a small deer heat tracker. but proper shots and tracking equal recovery the arrow comes out a lot or passes through

Im not sure if it would be worth spending $200 dollars for something like that? Unless you have plenty of money, what if u would miss and hit a tree im not sure but i would think that there goes ur $200? Maybe u should look into some Lighted Nocks"? They will help u find ur arrow and give u a better idea on ur shot placement! They will only run u around $10 bucks! Gd Luck!

I won't get one. I'm going to keep searching until I find an accurate broadhead with a wide cutting path (like maybe the Grim Reaper Extra).
Then I can just follow the wet stuff to the deer since I can't see red on brown. Too bad I can't get my hands on one of the military's thermal imagers.

I shot a small racked 8 point buck toward the end of NYS gun season that someone had hit with an arrow during bow season . He had an arrow in his cheek that protruded into his neck .

Thanks for all your inputs. I have been asking around to some of my buddies that have been bowhunting for a while and just about all of them admit to losing deer after and archery hit at least once. And all of them say they were good arrow placements, so I am not sure if this is a bad idea or not.
Just to clarify the receiver unit is the pricey part, once you buy that you can buy replacement transmitters that go on the arrow tip for $89 for a set of two. The reciever and two transmitters are $219.
And no, I don't have money falling out of my ears! or anything else for that matter. It is just hard for me to rationalize not doing everything I can to insure ethical harvest. Not to mention that fact that we all spend a fortune (both in time and Money) hunting, so if I get a good shot at mr.big and he runs off to die in a thicket, that is a sick thought.
