Everyone has had some good ideas so far, I would also say talk to a shop teacher, in my experience, alot of shop teachers are all regular joe type guys who hunt/fish/etc., if you know you shop teach well talk to him, and you may be able to get him on board as an advisor.

We did archery as a unit (a couple weeks) in senior physed this year, then went to the local pro shop and shot some 3-d targets. ive been bowhunting for a couple years now and love it to death, and some of the people in my class thought it was a blast too, even though they dont hunt or hadnt shot before. all we had for equipment was some real lightweight compounds and some layered foam targets. so far sounds like everybody is on the right track, i'll talk to my physed teacher's wife (my la teacher) about how he went about getting it started in school and get back to you.
