Where would you deer hunt?
 

If you could only deer hunt inone state or province for the rest of your life, where would you hunt?

I'd choose Illinois. Mainly because it's close to home and I've hunted there many times. I've also seen the biggest deer of my life in IL...it's been 10 years and still have dreams about him:eek:. I killed a 150 class deer this year and the deer I saw in IL dwarfed him....probably a 180-190 class deer.

I would pick Wyoming or Montana so I could hunt Mule deer as well as Whitetails.

Colorado hands down...!You can chaseeleven differentbig game animals here. It'll bethirteen when wolves and griz find their way back! Small game hunting is second to none. If you like the outdoors and every possible thing the outdoors offer, then Colorado is for you!

Washington.

We've got elk, mule deer, whitetail, blacktail,merriams, black bear, cougar, coyotes... I can keep myself busy here for the rest of my life.

I'd stay right here in Missouri where I have several places to hunt. I dont own land in any other states and I'd have to start knocking on doors or hunt public ground out of state:D

Since you specified deer hunting I would choose Iowa because it is only 3 hours north of where I reside and a few other reasons. However, if there are other game animals involved, I like Washington Hunters options. Elk, black bear and cougar would be awfully fun to hunt.

Nobody said Wisconsin yet? Allright I'll be the first. I'll take Buffalo County any day. Or Price County since my family owns some fantastic deer woods up there.

OH....IO all the way central and southeastern Ohio are putting out some truly mosterous deer! Within ten minutes of my farm three 200" deer were killed this year!

Licking County in Ohio, I have been hunting this county for the past six years and seen some monsters. The hope is to tag one those brutesin the upcoming seasons.

Ontario we've got:

moose, black bear, deer, eastren turkey, upland, goose, ducks, coyotes and a heck of alot of fish only thing I'd want is elk.

This is a tough one, but if we're talking hunting deer only, I'd say Kansas.

I have had the opportunity to only hunt whitetails out west. Albertas bowzone with Youngfart which was just superb whitetail country, South Western Montana's river bottoms during my college years in Dillonand finally 25years in the Idaho Panhandle. They all hold great whitetails. Northern Idaho being a sleeper state.

Saskatchewan, I have hunted for sheds with Hiawatha two springs ago. After a week of 10-12 hour days up there and witnessing what I did. Sas gets the nod. If I was asingle man on a mission to liveout my lifebowhunting BRUTE whitetails, I would choose that Province, lack of people and HUGE COUNTRY...The body size of those deer, age structure,the ideal habitat and "massive" antlers...that go with it.....is just amazing to me. I'd live somewhere up close to where Dan (hia)lives, because he's a blast, lots of fun, never gets uptight over anything and has a good head on his shoulders.. :D I could hang out with the Bloski family, Ziggy:D:D and the rest of the Chelan crew!

Nobody would go to New Hampshire? I don't blame you. I live in New Hampshire and it's tough hunting. I would have to say Illinois because I have gone out there 3 times and love it. I saw more deer in a week in IL then I would here in New Hamshire in 2 years.

CANADA.. no question. I love Illinois, I've been fortunate enough to call it home my whole life but it's changed enormously over the past 10 years something unbelievable.

I would definatly take a life in Canada. No People. No busy, busy lifestyle. No traffic. No Leases. No heavy corruption (like in Illinois). No Problem. I'd hunt big whitetail feverishly!!!!!

I sure do like hunting here but the grass is always greener on the other side. I like hunting in a area where there is a potential to shoot a world class buck and even though you may get some nice ones here I would like hunting in Alberta or Saskasawhatever where the next big boy is coming from.
Within 2 years, I'll find out. ;)

defiinetly michigan, they have alot more than you think you just gotta hunt a littleharder but there nothing wrong with that.

Minnesota, as it is my home and has fantastic whitetail, goose, duck, bearand predator hunting. We also have good populations of moose, elk and better fishing than just about anywhere else.
