shed3 - I've got 10-12 years of Colorado and Idaho elk hunting under my belt - so I'd say yes, I've hunted the mtns, the mystical thermals etc. You do the best you can. You CANNOT escape the nose of a deer or elk. never. all the expensive clothes, socks, underwear, chewing gum, pills etc ....... forget it. One whiff and you're busted.

killed a spike, a 4x5, a 6x5, a 5X5, another 6x5 ..... I remember killing one and not finding him one year, and 2-3 years I didn't get opportunity, I missed on shots 1-2 years, chose not to shoot (muzz tags) a couple of years ......... I've had really good success elk hunting. Not so much the last 3-4 times I've went, partially due to a new outfitter liking the same place I do, partially because I have hunted with a longbow. One year wasa disaster from the git go !

Thermals are true - sometimes. Prevalent winds are prevalent ....... sometimes. I swear stinking like campfire is THE best cover scent, bar none.

Whitetail hunting, diesel and cattle poop is the best coverscent I think.

I guarentee you, if you wash with it, use their unscented deoderant, wash your clothes with their detergent, brush your teeth with their tooth paste, keep a little film vile with youso you canput somein your hair upon reaching your stand, your deer sightings will go up.

You'll also need to purcahse a charm I have for $19.99 to complete the package.

yes, but when I shoot a big deer can I put my pictureon their website?

Thx P for helping us out!!

For such a dorky guy thats such a pain in the ass, its surprising isn't it ? I'm actually a pretty decent hunter ......... traditional archery flat out humbled me to be honest with you. Its a totally different ballgame.

All my elk hunts were on public, OTC tag lands, mostly backpack and llamas. My secret is no secret at all - walk until you find elk. Hunt long, hunt hard, find the elk, get in and around them, and eventually you'll find a shot. Sounds too simple, always worked for me. I've got elk hunting stories galore ........ mostly the big ones that got away !@
