My Season Is Over
#1

I have came up empty handed my first season of bowhunting. I managed to have 12 deer within bow range which is great for around here. Should have taken at least one stinkin doe. Holding out for Mr. Big sometimes has it's consequences I guess. Oh well, better luck next year. I would like to thank everyone for their advice here. I have learned a ton of stuff and have learned to apply what I have learned. (If that makes sense.) Even though I have deer hunted for around 30 years off and on, I have enjoyed this season more than any. I think I may have gun hunted 4 days total the whole season. The gun just lost it's appeal once I started bowhunting. Man this is worse than crack. Anyways, just thought I would stop by and sit in a while.Later, LT

Sounds like a great season LT, I've had some fantastic seasons where I never filled a tag. Like you said, there is always next season to look forward to. That's what keeps us going back to the stands, one just never knows. If we knew each and every outcome, we might stay home and miss something, you know?

LT,
Just knowing those deer were in range and you could have dropped the hammer, makes that a great season. It's not always about the kill..it's about you vs. them; and they didn't know you were there. You outsmarted the smartest animal in the woods.THATS COOL.
Gives you a rush...When's the season start?

Hey Tomcat, just wondering what part of the state you hunt? Sounds like you had a pretty good and educational season. Not all of Louisiana is the best hunting especially for size. Get ready to shoot some 3D to stay in tune. We had our first shoot last weekend.

I'm not really into the 3D thing 8PT, But I will definately be practicing all summer again. I am about to upgrade to an Allegiance over the Tomkat soon. Should be a great season come October. By the way, I live about 45 miles north of Alexandria in a little town called Montgomery. ( I hunt between Verda and Atlanta mostly.) Where are you located?

I'm not far from you. I live in the suburbs of Pollock.
Between Pollock and Ball. My daughter and Son-In-Law live in Winnfield. Have you ever tried 3D? We sure would like for you to give us a visit at CenlaBowbenders and try your hand. My shooting is only for fun and practice nothing competitive unless my son gets mouthy. If you would like any info just PM or email me your number and I will gladly give you a call at your convenience. Our next shoot is Feb. 25. My son and I will be in Coushatta setting up a fun shoot for the First Baptist church in conjunction with their annual Beast Feast this coming Saturday.
