i think i'm gonna change my broadheads from razorbaks to rage or muzzy. the razorbaks have a bad blood trail is very heavy at first then it stops. how are the blood trail for the rage or muzzy

MUZZY'S ARE GOOD.DON'T OVERLOOK THE MANIAC.

I shot four deer w/ rage 3-blades this year. None went over forty yards. That had a lot to do with shot placement though. Entrance/exit wounds were very large and left a great blood trail. I will be using the rages again next year.

They are probably all good IMO. Proper shot placement is the key. I currently use Muzzys. I have also used lots of different ones from 2 bladed bear heads to spitfire mechanicals. They all work.

If you don't mind looking at something else. The Crimson Talon is an awesome broadhead. It helps the arrow fly straight by fascillitating rotation and it makes a nasty, nasty exit wound. I love them. Very confident in them. There only drawback is they are hard to practice with. They don't pull out of a target very well, because they actually "drill" a hole in whatever they hit.

I gotta tell ya ... you could use a field tip (not that I would reccommend it) with he right shot placement. My nephew screwed up and brought a field tip with his broadheads deer hunting .... well he nocked that arrow instead of his broadhead without knowing it and shot a doe with it. It ran 50 yards and died.

He didn't tell us that it was a field tip cuz he knows how his uncles are, and he didn't want to disappoint us. It took the knucklehead 2 years to tell us ... it was his first year bowhunting ...

I have been shooting muzzys for ten years, I have no plans to shoot anything else, I have very little problems with blood trails.

Muzzy 100gr 3 blade works for me. Placement helps.

Many good heads on the market-shot placement of course. I started shooting Rocky Mountain 3 Blades when they came on the market in the 70s. Buffalo, Whitetail, Elk, Caribou, Black Bears, Mule Deer, Wild Hogs, Rams, Goats & a few others have fallen to them. No need to change after this many years. Excellent Blood Trails-fortunatly, all have been short.
Son & Brother have also used them for many years.

I shot the Rocky Mt Snyper XP's this year and don't see myself ever going away from them. They are pretty close to the Rage heads. The entrance hole on the buck I shot was amazing, a 3" slice right through that left a blood trail that a blind man could follow. Here is a pic of the buck and you can see where the shot was and how large the entrance wound was.
