I wish there was a party that believed in no foreign aid to other countries, a strong military, our borders secured, low taxes, no welfare to losers that scam the system, and concealed carry permits except for felons and thementally ill.
Don....you sound like you're looking for the Libertarian party.

But Don....did you REALLY say you'd institute socialized medicine??? Really? For all the views you showed above.....to promote big government getting involved in our healthcare matters, frankly,.....surprises me. I want WAY, WAY, WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY LESS government.

I feel the healthcare system and costs have gotten way out of hand. Ford Motor Company just posted record losts. Companies can't afford to pay for health insurance for their employees and it isn't their job to IMO.A fractionof the taxpayers $$ being wasted and going to these other countries in foreign aid could just pay forfree healthcare for every American. Our American made products would be lower in price as the large price of health insurance would be lifted from the manufacturers' back.Health care is the BIGGEST operating cost for big and smallbusiness. We also can't forget that over half of America has no health insurance as they can't afford it. We make sure that foreigners are helped before our own people are. Screw the foreigners, take car eof things at home. If my kid needs a new coat, I don't take the coat money and send it to a kid in Uganda. I take care of my owns' needs.

Why have they gotten out of hand? Its the entitlement attitued that this country has. The price of malpractice insurance it out of control because people can sue for almost anything and win. If we had reasonable judges with commonsense, who did not award millions of dollars for paper cuts, we wouldn't have this problem.

Socialized health care? No thanks. I live in Canada most of the year and I see how their system works. I thank God that I have private insurance down here. Doctors up there are government employees and underpaid. The system is slow and the care is poor. Poor analogy, but would you want the mailman operating on you?

I agree, this is the reason for high costs. How do we stop it though? Make it illegal to sue a Dr.? That sounds scary too. The Healthcare Systemin America is a mess too.
No mailman please.

This is the 1st time I have been to a Dr. since I hit a deer with my Harley 6 years ago. I never have health issues and my entire family never goes to the Dr.(knock on wood). The cost of our premium is outrageeous and we are self employed.

No idea how to stop it. Almost impossible.

Note that I was only making an observation and comparing our system to one with socialized health care. After seeing both, I'll stick with high rates for private insurance.

Here's one question. What is the point of MEDICAID?

You're thinking Medicare. I don't have a lot of knowledge on Medicaid, but I do know it isa program for those who cannot afford health insurance.

Realize that anyone who needs medical attention will receive it. Will it be as good of care as what I may receive? Maybe not, but they will be treated.

We live in a capitolistic society, we all have the same opportunities to succeed. Its just some choose not to. It goes hand in hand.

HCH the problem is not healthcare cost. The issue is we are lazy, fat nation. Our over weight population has caused more medical problems forthe health care system.

I am a personel trainer and I see it everyday. I help a guy loose 150 lbs, and guess what all his medical problems went away.

My wife and I stick to a strick diet, no persevatives, no MSG's. I have not been to a doctor in 15 years.

If ford required their employees to work out 30 mins a day 5 days a week; they would cut their health care cost by half.

I agree. If I didn't ride a bike or hunt, I wouldn't have seen a Dr. in that many years either. Will this thread get locked because we are picking on fat people for making our insurance rates too high? Sometimes, we have to be politically correct.(Not me[8D])
