I've done it a few times... get down after dark and back up in the same tree before light. I did it more when I was hunting thousands of acres of private land in Alabama, and our hunting party was camped at the only access road. I don't do it nearly as much hunting public land in Illinois.

I did it one night after I shot a deer. After I found the deer I forgot the bow.

I used to when I hunted on private land that was policed strongly by the owner, and when like Greg, I hunted until dark and then the next morn.

Yep, but i hunt private land if i hunted public I sure wouldn't. I've actually left my bow in my DB blind too.

NO ... I would never leave my bow up in the tree , my bow goes where I go at all times.
It's like my American Express Card I never leave home without it. :)

Left my actual bow in the tree? No. Although I have left many of those little bow hooks up in several trees throughout my years hunting.:D

Nope, It goes up when I do and down when I do as well.

Call me crazy, but I never even thought anybody would leave their bow in the tree overnight, not on purpose at least.;)

I do it quite often. Especially on trees that are hard to get in quietly in the dark.

My brother did this year once got real windy that night next morning his bow was laying on the ground.

Not a snowbals chance in hell. I have issues with bears climbing my stands at times so i go with a big no. Also i would not like the fact of a cloud coming ovver in the night an dumping some rain on the unit. Also I go with a totally different approach in the mornings most times.

There's a guy that comes in our shop that leaves his up all season. I won't do that....and I haven't left mine up....yet. I might next year, though. Problem is.....in hunting 46 times, this year....I hunted the same tree 2X.

No. for me my bow is my only protection when i'm out there.
plus I shoot alot of coyotes on the way back to the truck.

By accident or on Purpose?? In either case no is my answer.

I do however have Bow Holders screwed into tress acrossed 2 States! I always forget them! So next time you find an ideal tree in Ohio Or PA and there is already a bowholder at 18ft send me some thanks.

I have never left mine in the stand over night but I do leave it in if I get out of the woods in the morning and then plan to hunt in the afternoon. I don't have the problems of trespasser and poacher that I hear about others having.

I have never left the bow, but have left the quiver hanging on the hook.

Nope, me either. I hunt all private land, but I still wouldn't do it. Too much money to just leave it.

A couple years ago me and my dad hunted this spot, then the next year me and a buddy went out there and i went to the area my dad hunted. I picked a tree and got about 20' up to find a bowhanger. Then I remember from last year my dad saying he forgot his in the tree, but it wasnt worth walking all the way back for. Needless to say i brought it back to him.

There is no way I'm leaving my bow out in the woods. You never know what could happen to it overnight. I didnt pay all that money on something to have it messed up. Probably the stupidest idea ive heard of.

I would not leave it overnight, but I have left it after the morning hunt knowing I'm going to hunt the same stand that afternoon. I hunt on my own land but still would not leave it overnight. My hunting partner left his in one of our stands one night this season and it rained all night. What a dumbass. He said, well I was going to hunt there in the morning. His release froze solid. It was ruined. It was a 70 dollar scott release.

People must be a lot more honest in your neck of the woods. I've had a 150$ trail CAM and a 200$ Tree Lounge taken from my own property.

I agree that my bow goes in with me and out with me. I would never consider leaving it in the woods.
