2006 Small 8 Point Mount
#1
This is the small 8 I shot this year with the bow in MA... My brother in law has been doing deer heads on the side as a hobby for a couple of years now. He did this one for me for just cost of materials for practice... I think it came out pretty well... for not being a professional and doing it as a hobby. It is not a deer I would have mounted if I didn't get a free mount! But it is a trophy just the same.

Bdog...
The buck next to it was actually his first mount he ever did... Unfortunately, I did not shoot that one w/ the bow... I got him with the Muzzleloader back in 2003. I actually missed him w/ the bow earlier that season...
Here is a pic of both.

Just a little tip.......its a silly pet peeve of mine but also alot of good taxidermists: Take something thin that isn't going to cut the hair and tuck that splayed hair against the wall back behind the shoulders.
It should have a smooth look to the contact area with the wall, not frizzed out shoulders.
My local taxidermist told me and a buddy that if he ever comes into our houses and finds that hair going up the wall he was going to take them back.
