Slim, I didn't realize that blood on a deer in a pic or using the word "kill" instead of "harvest" was going out of my way to not be politically correct. Once again, please fill me in, anybody, on how my hunting rightsare going to betaken way by showing blood or using the word kill. Germ, please inform me how these words or blood on a deer on a hunting showare bad for a 6 year old to see. It is hunting for pete sake. No different as seeing the arrow go in the animal. Hunting shows suck IMO if the arrow isn't shown hitting the deer, that is why most of them show it. Should a 6 year old see an arrow hit a deer? I think so. If you don't want it to be viewed by them , turn the channel. Hunting shows are made for anadult male audience primarily. It is your choice to either let them watch it or not. I just can't see watering down life because of some ridiculous fear that antis are coming to get me.
Iowa is different then MI, and NY is a different climate also. I wished the world was more like Iowa;)

Like the Cannon says in there ad "Image is Everything"

Good luck! I have to get some work done

Do you guys wanna know what really will end our right to hunt???? It's not Tred, Ted, HCH, Preacher, Jeff,Germ, etc. etc ...... It is The Liberal, anti God, anti gun, anti life people. The people who believe that the only absolute is there are no absolutes. It's the people that would rather lay down and die, instead of standing up and fighting for the rights that we have in this country. God given rights.

I agree with Germ and Jeff as far as we need to have tact. That, however is defined in the eye ofeach individual. My child would look at the picture HCH put up and would want to see more. I teach in a Christian school, and the kids here do not get grossed out by anything. Yaknow why?? It's the way of life to them. Now a PETA person's kid would probably run away crying....

The left wing liberal crowd is slowly trying to take away OUR rights in America. Make no mistake .... track history around the world and the pattern is the same ... "we must not offend" ... "the rights of the people" .. so it is the people who we elect that will really determine the future of our sport .... not those other guys.

So lets not be disgusting ... but that again is in the eye of the individual ..

I'll put my soap box away now .... ;)

Does it matter? If they took deer hunting away from you....what reason could they give to substantiate their actions?

I don't know the answer to your question.....but I've heard "because it's a songbird" used in some circles.......and that wouldn't fly in NC. Dove hunting is a rite of passage, here. I'm betting it used to be in MI, too.

No GMMAT is was Banned for 99 years, in 2004 we got it passed. Then the anti's got it put to a vote we lost.

We had dove hunting for a year in 3 counties I think.

I like how you answer to start another debate. That's getting real typical on this site.

Well they are far from a song bird. Doesn't sound like you know the answer for sure. But you sure have used that as an example to this post many times. When was it taken away? Did you fight it? Did you care at the time?Or do you just want to use it as an example to keep posting?

Yes PETA is a threat. The neutral people can be swayed. Deer hunting is big business. It's being fought for everyday. Maybe yourDove season wasn't due to popularity.

It's never been an issue, here. Don't know where you got that.

Poeple can't hunt bear in NJ.

Can't dove hunt in MANY places. The reason just doesn't make any difference to the people that can't hunt, now, does it???

I actually don't know why the 80% and the anti's were able to beat the astronomical $$ the hunting community has with all their clout to get hunting banned in those states.

Where you posed the same question on the Archerytalk forum,so far about 2/3rds of the respondants are in favor of being considerate and respectful of the nonhunting public.I havn't tallied the numbers on our site here. You would have to exclude multiple posts by the same person.
If there are this many people that are passionate enough to spend to much time on sites like these, then to ignore their points of view is a mistake! If within our own ranks at best we are 50/50 split you should know with certainty that among non hunters they are going to be disproportionately in favor of "political correctness" to think otherwise is naive!

So if the 80% can be swayed, why give them any ammo.whats wrong with covering a dead deers head if you can to keep from freeking out some little kid who never saw one.I think the word uncaring is used by the antis when they are discribing hunters.
What if a bunch of naked homos were walking through the woods where you hunt.Id probobly never go back in those woods.Totally differant but kinda the same.

RE: Politically correct bowhunters

It depends on the reason. Most states don't have a Dove season because there isn't a Dove population to support one. We have Bears and Mountain Lionsin Oklahoma but no season on them. There isn't enough of them to support one. So guess what? If I want to hunt them I must go to another state that has a season on them. Just like you need to do if you want to Dove hunt. Doesn't sound like your state made much money on the Dove season or hadmuch of a fight to save itor you would still have one.
