RE: wounded doe
You should pack up a tent and some food and go out until there is no possibility that you can find her. You may have to walk a few miles but you will get her.
|
RE: wounded doe
that's true going after school. any of use have any thing like these happen to you?
|
RE: wounded doe
If you shot at it you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to get it. Take time off of school do whatever it takes. My grandpa has been through this many times with other peoples deer and has traveled many miles for just one deer. It is a test you must find the deer to truly be a considered a hunter by your peers and welcome to the website.

and where you at in PA? i dont know about the whole state but i drove through 4 or 5 counties today and this whole part of the state is white. upto 6 inches..a hit deer would be a pretty easy trail in snow id think. something smells a little like....tuna..or is it salmon...no i think its CARP..could be wrong but im getting a wiff of something |
RE: wounded doe

RE: wounded doe
how many deer have us guys not recover?
|
RE: wounded doe
see...there was that slim chance i was wrong. and i was. sorry about that...i had no idea you guys got to hunt longer. where i live in 2B its also a semi special reg area. guess we aint THAT special;)
but we DO got snow...funny how where i was all weekend had 6 inches and its snowing right now and you guys dont have anything. i hope its atleast COLD there?? i know its COLD here!! good luck looking for your deer PA. just gather up some friends and get out there and put on a big gridsearch. if your certain it looked low you probably just grazed her. but get out there and look...turn over every leaf. live and learn if you dont find her. best of luck though... |
RE: wounded doe
i like i could have grazed her because i got a pass through with a small chunk of lite red or pink on my broadhead. i thalt it was a piece of the heart and yea it's cold
|
RE: wounded doe
If you got the heart you'd have blood from the BH all the way to the fletch, covered. Keep looking, everyone loses a deer once in a while even if they won't admit it. I've lost a few but always gave them the respect of a very detailed search. Good luck to ya!

RE: wounded doe
Pa, mark off where u last kicked her up. Taken some1 w/u & fan out in an arc, zig zag back & forth looking for any more sign. She may have gone farther than u think.don't give up!I had one jump my string & ended up shooting the femoral artery & he ran at least 150yds. Let us know if u find her.
|
RE: wounded doe
PA~ I painfully read all your posts. I wish you luck in finding her. If you do a grid search with some buddies, hopefully you can find her.
P.S.- brush up on your grammar and spelling. |
RE: wounded doe
holy cow eh... grammAr police...:D
go find her... get it back to your freezer. good luck! |
RE: wounded doe
Well to me it sounds like she is gone. I dont know what other people think but she is a deer that has been shot and might die.
|
RE: wounded doe
good luck finding it
hope nothing got to it tell us what happens |
RE: wounded doe
well went out today and she is still ALIVE! my arrow had blood on it from tip to nock. i hate not getting my hands on her and it's a wast
|
RE: wounded doe
Still alive, but going to die? or still alive and will stay that way? MOre details bud.
|
RE: wounded doe
the shot was a little longer that i thalt but the hit looked like the lower heart the blood as pink found same white hair? the last blood was dark red to normal color. got a pass through did i hit her in the leg? i thalt it mit have pass through from ahead of the heart out the chest or it hit the opposite shoulder. this well be the first deer not recovered i am a great shot. love this sport!:D
|
RE: wounded doe
You may have gotten her in the brisket area, or maybe went in the armpit area and came out with no real harm done to the deer, if that was the case then you probably shouldnt have taken the shot..Hopefully she will make it but all I can say is practice, practice, practice..And not at just shooting, pick out objects and then range them you will get to learn yardage alot better until then stick a stick in the ground letting you know o.k. the first stick is 20 yards, the second is 30 etc, etc, or better yet if you are just starting out use one pin 20 yards practice every day even if it is 4 arrows a day until you get confidence you shouldnt shoot at any animal over 20 yards, then move out 5 or 10 and do the same but whatever you do practice, practice, practice, sitting, standing, kneeling, all different positions..I know we all shoot standing perfectly when we are practicing but alot of times you dont get to actually shoot that way in the woods...Hope ya find your deer...

|
RE: wounded doe
your posts are very tough to read and understand.
Being a great shot in the yard and at a deer are world different. You should reconsider the shots you take at deer. Losing them is not something to take lightly. |

RE: wounded doe
