RE: Most influential person in archery today
I'd agree with Atlas.. Nugent has probably influenced more people than anyone else in the past 10 years or more. I would go so far as to call him the most influencial person in archery today.

RE: Most influential person in archery today
I would have to say the people in this form. Next to bill massy the man that put my first bow in my hands. See I have a 16yr son who wanted to buy a gun and go hunting. After sitting for 3 days in these forums went and bought a bow. Can't say which one it don't count. But all of you thanks for the help.

RE: Most influential person in archery today
Well I may have to stand in the corner after saying this, and I do not mean it in a bad way so do not beat on me to bad after I say it. But if you want who is the most influential people of today, that we will be talking about in twenty years I would have to say it is people like Bernard Horton, Bill& Kath Troubridge and other CB makers leaders. Not trying to go off course butalot of states are switching over to full unlimited CB use. I would say intwenty years most of the states will use them and the CB will do to the compound like the compound did to the recurve. Thenpeoplewill look back at those names like we do atothers now.Five years ago I think only Ohio and Arkansas were the only states to allow full CB use, now there isnine that have full unlimited use during the season.Just my opinion on what is influencing today that is affecting tomorrow.

RE: Most influential person in archery today
There are so many.M.R. James from Bowhunter magazine has to be up there. One of the best known bow hunting magazines that has been around a long time.
I am a big Randy Ulmer fan, very accomplished on both sides of the archery world, target archery and hunting. While there is no denying the attention that Ted Nugent has brought to our sport,I fear he may alienate as many as he attracts, hopefully that is not the case. |

RE: Most influential person in archery today
ORIGINAL: hardcorehunter ORIGINAL: isatarak No one has mentioned Jackie Bushwhacker. I have thought about this a lot. If we leave Ted Nugent to carry our torch, well we are in trouble. I would take a southern Gentleman like Jackie Bushman over Ted anyday of the week. Does nottake too much smarts to yell and scream like a nut job. The #1 problem with Ted is why he is busy actling like a 2 year old the message he is trying to comunicateis lost. Does Ted know what he is talking about, Yes.Do we as a group pay attention to his babble? I have met the man 3 times, and sad to say I am just not impressed. There is a very BIG reason whyJim& Richard(D-i-c-k) Cabela did not want him performing at their stores. Think about it, at 1 point the largest hunting retailstore was 50 miles fromwhere Ted lived. He was never once invited to preform, speak, or even standin the store. How influential can he be? |
