Head or bust.

At least if you miss, you miss clean.

Your red dot is dead center of the breast. I'm 8/9 on turkeys with a bow. The only one I didnt recover, I shot straight through that red dot you have. The top left corner of the green will put it down for the count if your shooting a wide diameter head. I shoot 2in. Rockets and crank my Vengeance down to 60lb, that way I can have the arrow stick in the bird and do maximum damage. Broadside you need to go straight up the drumstick. Avoid straight on unless you dont care for the beard or a chunk of good meat. Facing away aim straight for the bingo hole during strut or the spine out of strut. Good luck.

i asked this in the fall...opening day in the fall was NASTY. trees literally snapping in half. raining sideways. so i went out with the shotgun. me and a few other guys rolled 4 birds that day. so i never did get a shot with the bow. but itll be coming this spring so long i have time to get back into shooting again.

Decent thinking, Ill take a head shot over a body shot msot of the time.
However, them heads is always bobbin and weavin, so Ill let fly at the wing butt if I have a change as well.

I don't see the need to crank down your bow. If you want to that is great, but in my experience there is no need. Those birds are tough and getting a clean pass through is difficult if that is what you are worried about.
