Hey guys,
I was travelin the other day in stopped in a hunting shop I had never been in. Anyway it was a great place! I was looking at the bows and talking to the guy thats runs the archery section and I asked him if they had any left over vipertecs. I want a vipertec because I am used to the short ATA, and to be honest I dont have $600-$800. The vipertec seems like an awesome bow for the price.
Anyway this guy told me i dont want one....he said that the 07's are much better and parralell limbs of the Trykon make all the difference. He went on to say that the Vipertec is a very hard bow to shoot! The small ATA makes alot of hand shock. 3rd he said that the new Fuse strings are as good as winner's choice.
Any feed back....? I was excited about the vipertec but have not been able to find one to shoot. I have seen some nice deals on them for $300, also its gonna be a improvment for me, I am shooting a 2002 Dynatec.
Thanks
Jim

Yeah, he just didn't want to sell you one, either because he didn't have any or wouldn't make enough money on it. While it's true the new ones are better, and IMO the Vectrix is better than the Trykon, those Vipertec's are darn good shooting bows, nothing wrong with them at all. Oh, and as a sidenote.....The Vectrix is only 33" ATA.
There is little to no vibration or shock in the ViperTec, and I can't see how the short ATA would matter in that arena anyway.....My Vectrix is still as can be. The new Fuse strings are good, better than last year, but they aren't as good as Winner's Choice.

I have one and I don't think it is hard to shoot at all. It is my first short ATA bow and I have no problems shooting it. I have shot this thing out to 80 yards fairly acurrate. I practice out to 60 everytime I go out. I am guessing he just wanted to sell you the $700 bows.
The vipertec is a great bow.

A vipertec hard to shoot? that has to be the dumbest thing I have heard today.
I wonder if he meant that he was unable to pull it back?
it is possible that the lbs were set to high for him, you never know maybe he shoots a Selena.....
I have shot a lot of different hoyts and none of them have been hard to shoot.

I had one and sold it prior this past year's bow season... It was a very nice bow... But a little to light & "jumpy" for me. I had alot of problems tuning mine as well. I enjoyed it and killed many animals with it... but it just didn't fit me right... I was never 100% comfortable with it.
But, it is by no means hard to shoot. At the time, I liked it better than the other Hoyts (xtec, vtec, havoctec).
