Default Shed Hunting in PA

Anybody find any sheds yet this year in PA? I know all deer drop at different times, I'm just wondering is it too early to get out there and search for sheds or should I just wait.

I think another week or so they should be dropping. I saw a small buck 2 days ago with both antlers.[8D]

I'm not that far from you I'm up in Mass. I shot a 230 Lb. Buck the last week in Dec. who had already lost his antlers. I have been out 3 times now looking but I have only found last years drops, nothing from this yer yet. And my last time out was yesturday.

I have been hunting sheds for over thirty years and have found one thing for sure, there are no specific areas th find them. You can often narrow it down a bit by doing a lot of late season scouting. Keep track of where the deer are during the shedding seasons and you should be able to find a few. In our area there are a lot of porcupines and red squirrels that like to eat the sheds so we have to search regularly if we want to find them in perfect shape. In thirty years I have managed to find 37 sheds.

im in southeastern pa, and have found one shed so far. ive seen plenty of smaller bucks loosing their horns already, but the big ones seem to still have them both. we can still hunt does for another week, so it makes me nervous about whats actually getting shot.

It's still a bit early. I have seen three decent bucks this week in Southwestern Pawith both sides still intact.
