Default New Mathews Line

http://missionarchery.com/

I just got back from my local archeryshop and they had a new line of bows by Mathews. Yes, the same Mathews that makes the Drenalin, Switchback, and Ovation. The new line is called Mission and is a Mathews budget brand similar to Bowtech's Diamond line and Hoyt's Reflex. Unlike Diamond and Reflex though it will be sold through pro shops only.

There are three bows in the line that range, the x3, x4, x5. All are the same ATA 33" and all are around 4-3.5 lbs. the x5 being the lightest. IBO speeds are 310 fps across the board. Apparently the x3 the shop put through a crono went 293 fps at 70 lbs. w/ 29" draw and a 360grn. arrow so it was pretty quick. Best of all they were pretty cheap $350 for the X3 $400 for the X4 and $450 for the X5.

I shot the 60 lb. X3 and it wasnt bad considering the bow was only 350 bucks. It was about as dead in the hand as an BT Allegiance. BTW this bow was bare and none of the bows feature harmonic dampeners but do have the string suppressors on all models. The bow was could be a little quieter but with a good stabilizer and limbsavers it should quiet a little. The draw was smooth like a switchback but did have a softer wall.It also features Mathews fat grip which i cannot stand. No i wasnt able to crono it and no i do not have any pics.

Does any body else know about these bows?

This is the first I'd heard of it, though it really doesn't suprise me. Its good for every company to have a budget line.

I've heard of them, but not familiar w/ them.....But if your shop got one to shoot 293 I would take that over a Switchback....

Just another thought... is Mathews starting to lose its market share in the premium bow market and are looking to make it up in with this more budget minded line?
But if your shop got one to shoot 293 I would take that over a Switchback....
--- I didnt actually see them put it through a chrono, this is just what they told me.
Also if you shot one of these bows what did you think?

My opinion,

Mathews makes such a great line of bows that once you own one or two you don't need a new one all the time. You throw a budget line out there maybe guys will think wellllll I do need a 4th back up bow LOL
