RE: New Muzzy!!
I used Muzzy's all my bowhunting life (about 30 yrs) and tried the Shuttle this year and had great results. I carry both in my quiver now.

RE: New Muzzy!!
I think they're a decent head. I tried my darnest to switch to Muzzy. Heck, Muzzy even sent me some free Thunderheads(OPS...I mean Muzzy's)with my name printed on them once when I won a hunting trip they were co-sponsoring. I just couldn't get them to fly as well as my Thunderheads. I tried 3 different weights in an effort to make the switch. I always ended up going back to Thunderheads by the time hunting season rolled around. However, I found a new deadly flyer this year just like RIckmur. I'm carrying a quiver filled mostly with Shuttle T's and one Thunderhead. The Shuttle T's are deadly accurate. And aren't they "GAY" looking.[8D] Atlas, I think he's 19. :D

I used Muzzys for a couple years, but I don't like the screw on point either. They always did the job but some u just couldn't get the point straight.

I think the mx3 should be a great head for muzzy. I used to shoot muzzy until I tried slick tricks.

These will be the heads that could end up in my quiver just for a change of pace. If my Stingers weren't so darn good it would make it easier to switch and try something new. I do like the Shuttle heads a lot though and since I can replace the blades they fit bill perfectly for me. Having said all that I will still probably be hunting with Stingers next year. |
RE: New Muzzy!!
muzzy has by far the best and simplest way of locking the blades down, on the 3 blade models, that I have seen. Most heads cut just 1 1/8 inch and print good groups (not all in the same spot but good tight groups when useing the same head) I use a variety of mechanicals my self. I have some 2" cut for the turkeys and a bunch of 1 1/4- 1 1/2 inch cut for deer/ and other 4 legged game. they all fly to the same point as my field points. they are really great about that. I do have a 100 grain 4 blade muzzy I carry with me and often shoot it at squirrels (little buggers deserve it, darn chater boxes).
I saw some nap thunder heads on sale once and gave them a try just because they were really cheap to buy and you got a lot of them. when assembeling them i found out the only place the blade accually gets locked down is on the notch in the very front base and rear base of the blade. that i did not like so I guess ill just give them to some one who likes thunderheads i guess. |
