today i was out side hunting and i see 3 deer comeing into where I hunt
but when they got 40 yards away thay stoped and took off what happend
do you think thay smelled me or what the wind was in my face and thay where not on the down wind side of me and once thay ran away I hured 2 bleat calls comeing from behind me but hasent the rut been gone for along time

Where they "spooked" was it where you had walked in??

They came in from the other side of the wood's than where I whent in to my stand.
If I got some pictures of my stand and where the deer came in from would that help people tell me what I did rong? My stand is only right out side from my grandpa's home on his land,that is up here is wisconsin. Dose anyone know when the second rut is in wisconsin because I hured 2 blet calls after the deer ran away.

Maybe someone else walking in the woods??? Unless you use wind floaters to really see how the wind is blowing, sometimes the wind can be fickle. It's possible there was a shift or swirl. They usually would have tipped you off it they smelled you though by doing a little rubber necking.What type of terrain were you in, level hilly, bottom????

well there is a chance they saw you move, our smelled where you walked in our, there is a lot of things that could have happen, i could go on all day.

just about any thing could have spooked thim
movement
smill
or thay could have saw something alse
we wernt there we dont know

couldnt tell ya they either caught wind of u or many other things...there are so many things that could of affected the deer
