2007 - What states do you have planned?
#22
Well, I for one traded up bigtime for 2007. I completed my move from Indiana to Illinois and obtained my lifetime license. So, I will have two buck tags for Illinois to start with. Plus, the same as every otheryear...........whatever trophy tags I draw in AZ, NM, UT, CO, WY, ME, KS, NH, and/or OR. Passing on IA although I have max points and can go whenever I want.
I already got off to a great start, getting lucky in my first special draw of the year! Got picked for the best public land turkey tag in NE Illinois April 21-26.

To be honest, I haven't even thought about it yet. The season is still going in Ill. and Wis. These are the two states that I always hunt. I would like to hunt in Canada sometime. I'm thinking around the third or fourth week in Nov. How far in advance should one book a hunt? Thanks.

Let me know where you are looking and I can maybe give you some names.

From:
Kansas - archery whitetail
Maybe Iowa archery whitetail
Maybe Colorado elk
Maybe Ontario Bear
I'm trying to trade an expensive handgun for a hunt, so everything but my annual KS hunt is subject to change

I had planned on hunting Illinois last fall. Had some private ground lined up in Bond County. Started looking at the $$$$'s and chickened out. Spent my time at home in Iowa instead. It was a good thing that I didn't go to Illinois, as it took me a long time to find "the" deer I wanted in Iowa. I'll probably stay home again in 2007.
