RE: Bowhunters have a bad "rep"????

I started bowhunting because i noticed that the season was longer and hunting with a bow would be more of a challenge. I was tired of the rush i was always in trying to get a deer in 2 weeks when i could use 3 months to hunt and not have to worry about all the other hunters that are in the woods. A friend of mine who bowhunts was leaving his stand during gun season and a bullet hit the tree he had been in. Another guy i know shot a doe with his rifle this year and eneded up losing her after hours of searching at night. I think alot of people have a gun and think that it will kill their quarry no matter where they shoot it.

Why would they take this stance? simple, greed.
Bowhunters typically:

- get longer season
- go before gun season, even in the rut
- shoot deer that the gun hunters could have shot if they weren't already shot.

Good answer and saved me the typing. I agree. They hope a deer makes it through archery season, we hope a deer makes it through rifle season and we get a shot next year....quite the circle.

Somebody should make a cartoon sayin somethin about the hunting injuries with rifles involved. I bet theres more of them with rifle than there is with bows

Actually, they shouldn't. It would be stooping to the same level as these guys.

I'm amazed that hunters would try to point out the bad in other hunters. There is a lot more good in the hunting community than bad. It's like everything else...you do 99 good things or 1 bad thing and what do people remember......

It's time to start focusing on the good.

I figured you were, but I thought I would just point it out for those who thought you were serious.

Why would they care?? I don't think bowhunters affect their hunting since it is nearly all done in a guided, high fenced with bait operation. I've seen their shows and they aren't competing with bowhunters. Heck they can't shot a buck without a green light from the guide. This has to be bogus. They wouldn't be that stupid sincemost hunters don't think much of their hunting practices. [&:]
