I thought you took 4 evenly spaced measurements along the spike?
This is what I would have thought. But I'm not an official scorer. Those guys have a large rulle book for these kinds of questions.
kbacon are you a scorer?

RE: Scoring Question?

If i am looking at the p&Y scoring sheet correctly its H1 on the sheet since only 1 point each side. States the following: Circumference at smallest place between burr and first point. First point being only point.
My point is, who knows

RE: Scoring Question?

I am not a scorer.. but this is one question that I brought up to my scorer when he scored my deer for me last week. And that's exactly what he told me.

He told me that every deer gets 4 H scores for each side.. be it a spike, forky, 6 pointer, 7 pointer, or 8 pointer....

This is true, but how you get those measurements is the question. Evenly spaced or 4x one measurement.

RE: Scoring Question?

4 times one measurement 1/2 way down to spike..

And on a 7 pointer.. the H4 measurement would be taken 1/2 G2 to the tip of the main beam.

I scored my deer myself at 152 1/8" gross and 148 and 2/8" net... the official scorer got 152 3/8 gross and 148 2/8" net.. But mine was fairly easy and straight forward to score...
