RE: Kansas tags
well...any advice in hunting unit 11? will be there next rifle season..cousin has a little bit of land but we will see how that goes......
in response to the non resident hunters shooting "smaller" deer....you must remember that some hunters that see a 130" deer during deer season is a monster, so when they get out there and see a whitetail that is 130 or even 140..that is huge.....living in CA a 130" taken on public land during season is a very respected deer... you don't see deer that big everywhere... |
RE: Kansas tags
I might be there next year, I have good friend in Kansas City. I truly hope they go back to lottery system. Kansas should be something speacial. If they go over the counter Kansas won't be Kansas anymore totoe.
To many "let me pay" for my trophy will over run the state, I know decision are made on money and not what is best for Kansas hunters and herd. As an outter stater I would cherish and respect my lottery drawn tag, I would hunt for a deer larger then the average in my state. If you can get one every year then why wait, just shoot the first nice one that comes by. |

Germ, you bring your bow and I'll put you in a stand. Grow your hair back though I wouldn't want someone to put a arrow thru your head thinking it was an Armadillo.

They have better management then MI:D |

Here is an email I recieved from Mike Miller who works for the KDWP.
The 2007 season permit situation will be the same as it was for 2006. We are looking at making changes for the 2008 season, but we will have to get some statutes changed during the 2007 legislative session. We are looking at nonresident quotas, not over-the-counter unlimited sales. Most hunters are concerned about consistent trophy buck opportunities, and one way to ensure those is to limit all hunters to one antlered deer. We are considering an any-season whitetail permit for residents only in 2008. This would allow residents to hunt during any season with the legal equipment, but still limit them to harvesting only one antlered deer. Mike Miller Hope that helped some... |

One buckis what we have here, sort of. Anything more than 3" of horn is a buck, less is antlerless. |
