RE: Weird deer

All I can say is WOW!!!! I don't know what else to say becuase I see it two ways.

1st - I don't think it is as bad as Davidmil makes it sound. There is more bashing than congratulating at times, but I think a lot of times it's teasing taken seriously.

2nd - I do now what Davidmil is talking about. You have to be so carefull about what you post, in fear that someone will rip you apart. Or if your not part of a click, then you aren't as great of a hunter as he is. Despite that person bowhunting only one year, being in the click makes him a superior bowhunter and allows him/her to have an extremely big ego it makes you sick.

What it comes down to everyone would have to budge to make this site what it used to be. What is comes down to is I bet Len and Davidmil have more bowkills than 95% of the people here and it IS knowledge wasted regardless how you fell about them. I will neverNOT listen to someone who has killed a lot of deer. Hell, evenif someone withfewer bowkills thanme killsa deer, I will listen to what he has to say about the hunt, if the deer was called in, chasing doe in Early October, food plots, time they were moving. I might only choose to believe half of it, butI will always listen.

My father-in-law is and outstanding hunter, with many of tropheys. I look up to him in many ways. Not just because of his trophey bucks, but for many other reasons. I once told me to listen to every bit of detail from other hunter, keep picking more and more info out of the guy, the more info you gather, the better hunter you will be,believe what you want.He is also the one who told menot to be afraid to shoot doe.He said you can't get any better practice than that. Aslong as you do it legally, and youcan utilize the meat, go ahead. He saidthere is too many people whocan shoot outstanding scores in 3D leages/tournaments, but can't make a killing shot on a deer at 25 yards...sad thing is this istrue.

Davidmil,

Wow man. How old are you. I have never formed any aliance or clicks with anyone on this site, but I agree with some of them in your case. Your a grown ass man that is whining for attention like a 15 year old kid. There are alot of people in this country that kill alot of deer....ok. As many as you and your buddy there. If you want to post pictures....post them. If you don't get the response that you like then stop. It's that simple. Coming on this site and stating that you kill alot of deer and you don't get the respect you diserve kinda crazy. Why do you need this recongnition from the people????? If you know you do a good job isn't that good enough, or are you one of those guys that needs people to tell you that over and over. Come on man, keep posting your pictures and telling your stories because some people learn from them. Try not to ket your undies all in bunches over the people that critisize, your always going to run into this. Good luck hunting........but just coolit a little.

Enough is enough. This could go on as it did years ago.[:@]

Let me start by saying that Dave may have 'over-reacted' to a comment; but, you'd have to know the history to understand the reaction. Just as you have seen in a short time how many jumped on the bandwagon to bash Dave, this was tenfold+years ago over the pictures we posted. It was a horrible scene which went on for a long time.

It reminds me of a scene I witnessed a long time ago where people kept jumping on the pilemad atone human being on the bottom. The result was an badlyinjured person on the bottom. If you were on the bottom of that pile, wouldn't you be 'gun shy' for a long time??? I know that's what Dave feels. He was on the bottom of the pile.

I'm now sorry that I even made the comment about why we don't post pictures anymore. I'm also sorry this happened because I was starting to enjoy sharing information with fellow posters/forum members. I'mdisturbed thata 'thin-skinned' response by one individual has caused such a ruckus.[:@]

LEN, David owes you an apology. He took your very interesting thread and turned into a site/mod/member bashing opportunity.

Your photos are wonderful and I don't ever remember those other days. The pictures are also irrelevant to your topic of the thread however the photos could still be very enjoyable without the agenda that was tied to them. You are obivously very respected and rightly so. I agree, enough is enough and I apologize for being pulled into the web of offtopicness (is that a word?).

So, LEN,

You say this deer had a penis, no testicles and absolutely no "bumps" pedicles that you could feel? That is very interesting and something I've never come across myself. Have you been able to find any other similiar information?

Hell I'v ebeen hunting a little over a year......and I've never seen anything like this.

Im calling bull#^&! Where are we eatin lunch, clique???

Jeff:)

I've seen does with antlers....and grown men and women kissin (just not each other).....so I guess nature's just funny, sometimes. I'm wondering if.....during the rut....he chases his own tail, like a dog.

Len:

I'd love to see ALL of your hunting photos. Respect.

I remember the post from some years back , it was about hypershock broadheads ,Ill leave it at that ,

The reason I remember is I could not believe the beating Dave , and Len got back then , kind of like the ridiculous banter in this thread . This is a hunting thread , where archers are suposed to help other archers , and share stories , Man it would be nice if some would not be so judgemental .

I'm not sure if everyone knows what Dave has been through, not only in the past year, but his entire life. Being an armored Captain in Vietnam would be enough to foster 'over-reactions' from time to time; but, he lost the love of his life, his wife, about 9 months ago.

The memory of what we went through, as ijimmy seems to vividly remember, coupled with his more recent troubles merits some consideration. A simple, "Chill Dave" would probably been sufficient and might have prevented this episode.

As far as an apology, mine is to Dave. I'm nowsorry I linked this thread to him. Had I not done that, he may not have gotten involved. BTW, all those pictures are his. I don't know how to post pictures. I've always relayed them to Dave and he takes care of it for me. He tried to get my 'puter to post pictures, but there was a problem that he and another friend couldn't solve.

I'm sorry, my friend.[>:]:(

Back to the topic:

Steer deer are becoming more common here. In these cases the testicles of the buck never drop or never develope however, it differs from Len's case in that they still have antlers which in most cases never drop. Len's buck seems more likely to be some form of hermaphrodite. I'm curious if it had a vaginal orifice? It happens but it is extremely rare.

It has to happen. In millions of deer across the country even more rarities have to happen but we seldom hear about many of them. In this case, a respected member took a rarity. Many are probably taken by non computer, non forum members.

I will say this. I remember all the for-mentioned goings on. I am proud to have had the opourtunity to hunt the very same property all this took place on with Len and Davefor 2out of the last 3years before the said property was lost at the end oflast yeardue to another hunter that was allowed to shoot geese on it.We all have hunted other places this year with me and David only getting about 18 hours in the woods but both of us manageing to harvest bucks, he in NY, me in Md hunting with DaveH and Len, well Len has taken numerious deer as always.I respect bothLen and Daveemencly and have learned so much from both. I wish all herecould meet both of them up close and personal.Congratulations to you both on all your accomplishments.

Len, I have heard of the deer testicles not fully traveling to the scrotum.
It could very well have been a normal button without fully decended nutz.
Did you find any while field dressing. They would be tucked around the bladder cavity and be very small. possibly mistaken as fat sacks.
I've seen it first hand. Its not genetic from what i've read and fairly common.
[hr]

Its a good thing you took "him". I've also read the semen they have can carry defects because of the heat theyre testicles are subjected to being in the body cavity.
My two cents Len

I am not at all surprised with the deer short coming.
I've had a doberman once that had no testicles (visible)either and later died of cancer.
I have seen people born without limbs, etc. Guess it's one of those things.

I totally remember that. It wasridiculous and only one of many similar to it. The ethics police have not been so brutal in the past year or two as they were back then, but are still around. It's funny...LEN and DAVID are actually 2 people I respect alot on this board. LEN probably has more archery knowledge than most that have ever hit this board. I really miss his posts and the info he shared with us. DAVID is really a good guy...and his personality is what it is--take it or leave it. (NO I don't know him personally and have never met him or spoken to him, just from the board). He calls a spade a spade, lots of folks don't like that. Personally I do. YES, sometimes he gets a little riled up and over-crotchety, but hey we all do sometimes. I think he has alot of real life expererience to share, especially in regards to hunting. I'd say he has a right to be over-crotchety due to the beatings he's taken here at times. That has probably put him on the defense at all times now, which can defintiely sway how someone comes across....especially to the new folks here that didn't ever seehim post years back.

I've been around here since late 2000 and used to post and read alot.It did get pretty ugly a while back and many good folks left the board unfortunately. Now I just don't have the time to post or read like I used to. There are still some great folks here and some actually returned. Unfortunately folks like LEN & DAVID don't put much out there anymore due to what has happened in the past. There are definitely cliques that form, andsometimes they do tend to gang up on folks. Ijust don't like the bashing some folks take, and sometimes for ridiculous reasons. Hey lets face it...we have ALL done stupid stuff, and probably also done stuff that is unethical or maybe even illegal. That is called life....we have skeletons in out closets, and stuff happens. If there is anyone that can honestly say they've never done anything wrong while hunting...we'll that would probably be a miracle. Maybe they are out there, but I doubt it. I try and be as up & up as possible in all things I do, but sometimes things happen. Like the bible says....we are all sinners, let him who is not be the one to cast the first stone. If you think you aren't...LOL.

I really enjoy this site, the info I've learned over the years, and the freinds I've made. Its a great thing. I just wish the folks here were a little more forgiving in some situations.

LEN, I will still get up to your shop one of these days to meet you...I promise :DYou and DAVID would be welcome in my camp anytime...(though I doubt you'd want to come---you'd be bored to death with the lack of activity vs. what you are used to.) LOL

NOW--as for the topic, YES that is weird. Did the deer have any FEMALE parts also, or was it just a non-developed buck? I have seen a few young deer that I didn't know were bucks at all until I flipped them over. They did all have testicles though, although not big :D
