Default @#%*$*@# GUN HUNTERS!!!!!

Rifle season for bucks opens this morning in West Virginia, which if I had my choice would never happen, well Saturday I'm in my stand for what I thought would be a good afternoon hunt. I had 4 does feeding my way, which I had decided one of them would be a good addition to my winter meat supply, well about then some butthead opens up with a rifle and continues for the next 2 hours riding his 4 wheeler around a fire road and shooting know fewer than 50 times. Needles to say by the time that this so called hunter was done there wasn't a deer moving any where in the area. Sometimes I have to agree with the anti's some people should not be aloud anywhere near the woods with a gun.

Gutshot what you are describing is not a hunter at all, he is a slob! I gun hunt and bow hunt and can tell you right now that I nor any one else I call a hunter would never do anything like that.

Slippery slope man.

You would be much better off educating this "hunter" on his mistakes rather then turning your anger on all gun hunters.

I and my whole family gun hunt. I have seen idiots hunting with bows and guns. A moron is a moron no matter what they have in their hands.

Talk to him.

Just a thought from a reformed traditionalist. I quit hunting deer for almost 25 years due to several incidents just like yours. I evolved into a "bird hunter" and referred to deer hunters as "goat hunters". A less than affectionate term. Everyone has their niche and this year I bought a bow and have found I just love bowhunting. As in every form of hunting, you have ethical people and you have unethical. I am gun hunting this year so my son can bag a deer. He's just too small to pull a heavy enough bow. He has a PSE Outlaw but his draw length keeps him under 25lbs of draw weight. I will teach him the same values as with bow, with the range extended considerably. Don't shoot at running deer. Broadside and quartering is ALWAYS the best choice. There are more idiot gun hunters because there are more gun hunters in general. I call them onto the carpet just as I do bow hunters that take low percentage shots. But I respect whatever form of the sport they choose as long as they are fair to the animals. I do feel a twinge when I se trophies taken at long yardages that really didn't have a chance to survive.

Yep, slob is right. Tazman pegged the X on this one.

I hunt by bow, muzzleloader and shotgun; preferenced in that order. All are single shots and I took my first deer with my 20 gauge on 11-23. One shot.

If this idiot couldn't hit a deer after all that much shooting, should have been "removed" from the woods in order to find out what his programming is.

Shoot often - Hunt always

Well I mostly read these thread at work to learn a new "trick" every now and then but this subject hit real close to home. I took the week off of work between Nov 8th and the 15th this year to get in some bow-hunting before the gun opener here in Mich. Well four times I had to run off several of these guys from our property while bow hunting. (Chose not to read posted signs) Most of the time it was peak morning or evening hours. When the gun opener came around on Friday three of these dudes camped out on the propery line looking straight into our land. If this wasn't enough, one of these idiots was set up only 50 yards from my ground blind looking straight at me! Then he got up right as the sun dropped under the trees (prime time) and walked over to his buddy to have a conversation, all of which I could hear loudly because they were so f@#*ing close. Just when you think I'm done complaining, Saturday morning after watching a button buck walk by I heard the shooting start about 10 minutes later right where he was heading! See ya guys!!
