Great story Mauser06. Had a similar occurence myself once. 5 minute drive. Bow was in the case till i got there and realized it wasn't. After my palm hit my forehead a couple of times i laughed for ten minutes back n forth to the house and had a nice afternoon in the tree.
I would hate those circumstances if it involved a six hour drive though. That would be a bad deal.

I once drove45 minutes to find i didn't have the key to the trigger lock on the gun . I didn't have the time to go back and forth to go get it plus i was with somebody so i didn't want to wreck his hunt .

I was getting some shooting practice in before I headed out hunting one day. The phone rang, I set my bow down and answered it. Ended up talking on the phone for longer than I wanted. I was in a hurry and wanted to go to a stand that was going to be a long hike. So I grab my bow, jump in my truck, and off I go. Takes me about a half hour to get to my stand. I climb up, get all situated, go to knock an arrow ...................[:-] I left my quiver with my arrows on the ground where I was practicing.

Granted things get forgotten but never the bow, arrows or my release when driving to my hunting spots.
One night when I got back to my truck, I set the bow on top of the cab to dig for keys and put my gear away. It was really dark by the time I got back to the truck. I hopped in the truck and started driving. Kept thinking I was forgetting something. After about 3/4 mile it dawned on me. Looked back and no bow laying on the back seat!! [&:] [
] Coasted to a stop whilecussing myself for being so stupid. Got out and the bow was still on top of the cab.
