i know this is going to sound stupid but what is the diffrence and what does the deer hat to score to qualify. Is one for a bow kill and one for a gun kill?

Pope and Young are deer killed with a bow only.

Boone and Crocket are deer killed by gun, both using the same scoring system.

Exactly, and the minimum requirements are different as well.

125 for P/Y
170 for B/C

But... you could kill a B&C-qualifying buck with a bow

That's when you see an archer gasping for breath as he mouths the words "I just shot a Booner!!!!" [8D]

Aren't there seperate minimums for B&C when it comes to Typical and Non-Typical entries?

Yes, but even the non typicals will carry w/ them a typical score.....

I'm not sure what those requirments are, other than 170 booner....You can enter a booner w/ a bow, but not a P/Y w/ a rifle...

Greg, we posted at the same time.....I was pretty sure they were different....I've been wrong before though...Now where's that link??? Hmmmmm

P&Y typ. = 125 non-typ. = 150 or 155

B&C (All time) typ. = 170 non-typ. = 195

B&C (modern day = hunter killed)

typ. = 160 non-typ.= 185
