Default Deer mounts (easy Germ....Taxidermy question)

I've seen people put the arrow in the deer's antlers....and I want the fact that my buck was taken with archery tackle to be evident.....just a little more subtle.....

I'm thinking I want the "plaque" that it goes on to be a chiseled arrowhead (made of wood, of course). Does anyone have a photo of one of these I could look at?

Thanks.

jeff

I have a mount on a plaque much like you are talking about. When I get home today I will try to get a pic of it posted for you.
It might be tomorrow before I can get it posted.
My plaque was made for me by a friend who also makes all the plaques for a local taxidermist.

Thx for the warning[8D]

Deer mounts with an arrow take away from the mount IMO. I had a glass case made for my arrow with a picture of my deer to display seperate. I have not received it yet. When I doI will take some pictures.

Thats a neat idea for sure. My first bow kill was a spiker elk, never wanted him mounted at all. The arrow broke also so i have it mounted on a peice of weathered barn wood. Half the shaft with the broadhead, then a pic of me and the elk, then the other half with the fletching. My cheap form of taxidermy lol.

I know what your talking about, but don't have a picture of one. Try Google Images, I think that is where I've seen them.

Jeff, are you thinking a shoulder mount on your buck or euro/rack on a plaque?

I'm going to shoulder mount the one I shot, Saturday. He's not huge....but I couldn't be happier. He's A true repreentative of what's in "my" woods....and I can't think of a better way to memorialize him.

I'm still going to euro mount the first buck. I saved the skull/rack.

Why not just have it engraved in the plate that you killed it with your bow?

I believe that mount belongs to a fellow member on this forum.
