I would consider it a sport

In a way it is , for some people but for others it's a way of life if you had to hunt in order to feed your family and live then hunting wouldn't be a sport.
If you consider fishing a sport like most people do then yes hunting would be a sport.

ABarofsoap,
I don't mind realistic posts from people that are genuinely interested in telling or learning something. But sometimes it seems that you have too much time on your hands and just post to "hear yourself talk". You can't be serious with this one. Most hunting equipment can be purchased at a SPORTING GOODS STORE. That should answer your question right there.
how is this not serious, look how many people say its not a sport...

I don't think so, although..."an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition". Then again if it's beneficial for it to be categorized one, lets hope so. Archery can be a sport, firearms are used in sporting events, swords can be as well and all 3 are used in war, but war is not a sport. Hunting is more than a sport, although it is sometimes part of one. The contests we have here are every bit a sporting event.

Hunting is for sure made up of "sports":D
"a person known for the way she (or he) behaves when teased or defeated or subjected to trying circumstances; "a good sport"; "a poor sport" "

I dont think so,

A sport is typically "played" by its competitors,

When I'm hunting, I aint playin.
