I'LL KEEP IT SHORT
I WAS HUNTING WITH GREAT CAMO, ON THE GROUND
6POINTER WALKING ACROSS TRAIL.
NO SHOT SO I WAS ON GAURD.
DECIDED NOT TO SHOOT NOT A GOOD BUCK ONLY 21/2-ISH YEARS OLD.
BECAUSE I COMITTED TO LET HIM GO I WAS STILL SITTING/WATCHING.
HE TURNED TOWARDS ME..
STORY GOES I WAITED TO LONG,HE GOT WAY TO CLOSE(WITHIN10 FEET!!)BEFORE I INTENTIONALLY SPOOKED HIM BY TWANGING MY STRING.
WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE??
p.s. I HAD SO MUCH ADRENALINE

I had one that pretty much stepped over my feet. I was like you but I fought the urge. Actually I don't know if I could have moved even If I wanted to. When it happend to me it was just getting daylight outside and I couldn't see my pins.

Sounds really funny but the same thing happened to me, I decided he was a shooter,( i couldn't of made the shot without busting myself) so I sat as still as I could for about 5 minutes and let him pass.

well he litterally would have ran into me.
so i thought a twang from my string would be better than my totally spooking him for i still want to hunt that spot.
Its hard to think rationally w/ so much adrenaline!!!

In the 2000 season,I was walking to my stand when I saw a buck walking to me.At 1st I thought it was a spike but as it got closer,I saw it was a small 5pt.It was just breaking daylight when he walked right up to me,layed his ears back and dropped his head down,an aggressive posture.I had my longbow with a cedar arrow nocked right in front of me between us of so I tapped him on the head between the antlers. He jumped off to the side and stood there broadside so I shot him at 10ft.

I would have punched him in the nose then wrestled him to the ground - broke his neck - put a tag on him - and called all the traditional shooters wussies

I used to jump out of trees and land on their backs sending them to the ground with me pushing their snout into the dirt...no not really, I just enjoy thinking of different methods of hunting rather than bow and rifle...pfff come on guys! lol[8D]
