I used a four blade 100 gr. muzzey bad to the bone broadhead and had a lucky shot , decapitated the head right off the bird.

I used the bow once. Killed a 22 lb Tom with an 11" beard. I also used a mechanical broadhead and shot from inside a Double Bull T5 blind. I think I am going to use the bow again next spring, if I draw a tag.

I don't believe I willl ever take a shotgun to the turkey woods again. The excitement and challenge of taking a bird with the bow is unexplainable. I have shot 4 and found 3 birds with my bow. All on the ground without a blind. Like said earlier, it is much easier hunting them out of a blind. I am going to invest in a DB Matrix before spring time and go after the gobblers with my recurve. The reward and thrillis so much greater witha stick and string. I am thinking about using the guillotine (with my compound)this coming spring, they look pretty fascinating. Like said before, they are trouble transporting around while on the arrow. I think anyone that is interested in taking one with a bow should try it. Good luck to everyone this spring!!

Spring turkey hunting, oh heck yeah! Turkey for me only takes a back seat to bowhunting whitetails but I hit the spring season hard. I have not taken a bird with a bow as of yet but SBGobblers are I are going to give it a whirl in NC this April. I've taken the bow in PA but the birds in PA are so pressured. I've got the job done with the shotgun the last 3 seasons and prior seasons. I've guided many a first time turkey hunter to their first birds but have yet seen or taken one with a bow myself. It's my goal this spring.

I have one bird under my belt, I got it with my Bow! A great way to hunt birds, actually the only way for me! :)

I have shot a few with my bow. Last sping i got lucky and shot one without a blind but we usually use a double bull and it works great.

I've taken 15 turkey in the last 3 years with my bow, with 4 of them being this fall. About half with a blind and the other half without. Like you, it is my first passion and since bow hunting them, my shotgun hasn't seen the light of day. If fact, I haven't gun hunted anything in that time. Kansas is having a archery only season this year for the first time - can't hardly wait. For a couple of years I would take the first one with a gun and try for the second with a bow before learning enough to actually achieve it. I had to teach myself since I knew no-one where I live that bow hunted them. Whenever I asked, they would say "I have a hard enough time getting one with a gun!". Once you get one, you learn a lot and it becomes much easier. Now, the last two spring and fall seasons, I've tagged out. I far prefer not using a blind now and I actually have far better success with no decoys. Just me, my bow, my ASAT suit and some calls.
