Ok would you rather?
Would you rather take a questionable 50 yd shot at a buck of a lifetime and risk missing or worse wounding the deer or let him walk and pray he comes back the following day?

RE: Ok would you rather?
If I had any doubt in my mind thatI couldn't make a clean, ethical shot, there is no way that arrow would leave my string.

RE: Ok would you rather?
I'd definitely pass. Heck, I had a great buck at 20 yards 2 years ago with me at full draw aiming at him. I had to pass up the shot because the angle was wrong. He was quartering sharply toward me and I won't take a low-percentage shot. I love to hunt, but I want my kills to be quick and humane.

RE: Ok would you rather?
For me there is no such thing as a questionable 50 yd shot at a deer. At 50 yds, no shot exists, whether it be questionable, good, bad, marginal.

RE: Ok would you rather?
I'd shoot him at 40 but not 50

RE: Ok would you rather?
No to 50 yds. I'd have to think about 40 yds. 30 or less, no brainer. Just because you can hit a Ø3" circle on a 18" X 18" foam block at 50 yds in your back yard doesn't mean the same applies to any deer (monster buck or not). "String jump" doesn't apply to afoam block (it'll take twice as long or more for your arrow to go 50 yds vs 25 yds, not done the math, just a logical assumtion), plus your heart rate and breathing is not quite as intense when the quarry in made of foam. Thats my opinion, to each his own.
