ORIGINAL: mobowhuntr I got it, I got it...you're Pro staff for TT and MBG, and you endorse them ......Good for you, but I'll NOT be changing my rest and sights. Thanks for your incredibly invaluable input however.... |
RE: Question for you Vectrix owners....
Sounds like the bow technician doesn't know what he or she is doing.

RE: Question for you Vectrix owners....
ah, as we talked PM, torque....it's ugly and not seen sometimes...get a trusted advisor to stand behind you.
Do me a favor, reestablish center shot, go back to the paper and at full draw, get comfortable and reverse torque it and see what kind of hole you get...you might be bringing it back to alignment...hint? To quote Jeff, "I'm just say'in". ;) |
RE: Question for you Vectrix owners....
OK, Rob....I'll give that a shot. We think we've discovered the problem, I am underspined....which sucks....I don't wanna drop the poundage to loose the speed, and I DON'T wanna buy new arrows....But what choice do I have...I gotta have it right..I'll be crazy before this is over if it's not perfect....I'll get it.

RE: Question for you Vectrix owners....
id just drop the poundage hey itll be more comfy and you can hold it longer except youll lose some power

RE: Question for you Vectrix owners....
We had a few pm's earlier today and it was obvious that your not wanting to drop poundage.
It would be to your benefit to try it and see what happens before spending money. You will most likely see an improvement in penetration because of tune improvements. The speed difference will be less than noticable. I just run some numbers for you. With your current setup At 40 yards you can be between 34.2 and 44.4 yards and still be in the 8 ring of a Mckenzie bowhunter buck.Using the 40 yard pin. This is assuming an absolute perfect shot. If you drop your poundage to 64#'s and cut 1" off your arrows, you will be able to use your 40 yard pin at 34.7 and 44.1 and still be in the 8 ring. A 1 yard gain at 40 yards, not really worth fighting over. The big difference is about a 10 ft lb drop in ke but you will gain the majority of that back with tune. Like I have stated many times already, what does it hurt totry. Centershot is very important to the shootability of a bow and tune is important to penetration and forgiveness. |
RE: Question for you Vectrix owners....
TFOX, again, I appreciate all your effort. No, I don't wanna drop the poundage, but I'm gonna. Like you said, if that doesn't fix it, I can always increase it again....but if it does fix it..great. I am however thinking of an arrow change.
I currently shoot a .340 spine deflection, might switch to a .300, but lighter to gain back the speed. Yeah, I know, I know..it ain't all about speed and all that, but I like fast. |
