Default 9 Degrees in IL. Buck Down!!!!!

Well guys my 3rd trip to IL paid off. I'm visiting my brother-in-law (goherd1111) for the 3rd time thisyear to do a little late season bowhunting. We hunted this morning in 17 degrees and I seen one shooter 8 point but he didn't give me shot. We headed back out about 3:30 and the temp. had dropped to a dismall 9 degrees with wind chill at -2. We checked the trail cam on our early morning hunt and had a picture of a nice 11 point. I decided to hunt that stand this afternoon. Well it paid off. 40 minutes into the hunt the same deer we had on the trail cam. showed up. He came intothe grunt call about 4:55. Gave me a perfect 20 yard broadside shot. I made it count with a perfect double lung pass through. He ran about 60 yards and piled up about 15 yards from the road. Couldn't have ask for a better outcome. Oh by the way there was about 10" of snow on theground. Here are the before and after pics with goherd1111 and I.

Congrats 22series!!!!! I'm glad I could share it with you. It was a tough hunt. I can honestly say, I froze my bal@# off. At least now we don't have to venture out in the morning when its supposed to be 4 degrees. My warm bed will feel nice.Theres nothing better than sharing a successful hunt with a family member. Again congrats... And we will get em again next year. I thought I would add my pic of when you were here earlier this year when I took my buck. Its been a great year and I look forward to us sharing many successful hunts together.

Great deer and great hunt. It's tough to make yourself go out in weather like that.
