RE: shot in the back leg and the deer still dies?

Bowtech, I know that it may be hard to believe, but you are wrong. It is that plain and simple. Why else would you be the only one arguing the point and everyone else is against you. Most threads have a bunch on one side and a bunch on the other and so it is clear that there may be no "right" answer. This one should be clear to you, if you swallow your pride, that you have been practicing something that is not correct. I am glad that it has worked for you, but it will bite you in the rear some day. When we see the "I shot a monster and can't find it thread" from Bowtech at least we will all know what happened even when he says it was a good hit and he can't understand why he can't find it.

I saw that same show and he actually states that he hit the femoral artery. So definatlly dead! That is about the fastest you will get a bleed out!

i just watched north american whitetail hunt, and this guy shoots a 9 way far back, right around the back leg and up a little, they come back the next day, and of course they find there deer, sometimes these shows make me wonder, if i made that same shot would i find him?

My bet was a "poison Pod", some states still use them although I have no idea where? It's usemost of the time is quite a ethics situation. (vet only)

Bowtech Die Hard, Who cares if you know you have killed deer when shot in the butt! It's not an ethical shot for cripes sake, your an unethical hunter if you go out and take that shot on purpose!

you guys keep calling me an idiot but look how many deer already mentioned have been dropped. I've never seen a deer shot in the ass not recovered. Plain and Simple.
My cousin hit one exactly as your saying BY ACCIDENT, he never recovered it. I did days later, after the corn was cut. That is a total unethical shot taken intentionally not to mention the horrific wounding possiblilities when the shot is off. This kind of notion is what gives all bowhunters a bad name. I'm really disappointed to read this one.
