Anybody have any hunts booked for next year??
 

We just booked another archerybear hunt in ON with MOM W/SWD and her husband Ron for the end of Aug. New place we have never huntedand it looks great. Canada requires an outfitter.We get back form Canada and leave approx 2 weeks later with them for a 2 week self guided archeryelk hunt in the San Juan mountains in S.W. CO near Durango. Hoytgirl and I went there last year and saw some magnicient bulls; but just couldn't close the deal on a big mature bull. We saw several 6X6's, one 7X7, a small raghorn, and lots of cows. It was our 1st elk hunt and we learned a lot. We felt it was a big success as I had shots at cows at 20 yds that I passed on and we called some nice bulls up to us but we couldn't get the shots. Considering that only 20% of CO bowhunters get an elk, and I have talked with many people that have hired outfitters and never even laid an eye on an elk, I would say that we did pretty good.We will wall tent it this time and make daily hikes miles out to get to the elk; last years'hunt we packed heavy packs back in and it kicked us in the butt. No more of that for us; make a main spike camp near our truck,and then take light daypacks out to the woods each day.Can't wait for both hunts; but the elk hunt is the bigger excitement for me.
What are you guys and gals doing; going out of state, the country, or staying home??
I forgot another hunt; we are going down for archery turkey in MO with MOM W/SWD and Ron too. Can't wait!!

There a good chance I'll be back in Africa for work in August, so a bowhunt in Namibia could be on the horizon!!!!!!

I'm headed back to NC in the spring for gobblers with bows, I'm invited back for the Sept season prior to PA's opener as well. I'm hoping to tag out on a booner early in PA so I have vacation to do some more in other states. The only definate thus far is NC.

I'm the Tour Manager for the band Violent Femmes. We are being asked back in the middle of August! We played in Johannesburg Last November and I flew to Namibia after the shows, I hunted for 8 days. 60,000 acres of free range, unbelievable!!!!!!! You ever get the chance....GO FOR IT!

Not officially yet but i am seriously considering an out of sask venture for elk. Elk and moose would be bout all i would travel to hunt for and don't have the piggy bank beefed up enough yet to maker to alaska for a moose hunt. Might try northern alberta one year for moose, alot cheaper, more convienent and still monster bulls.

Sept 1 - 8 I'll be in NW Ontario hunting black bear. The rest of the year I'll be here in IL and partially in WI chasing whitetails again.

I'll be hunting Texas 10-11-12-13-14 for whitetail January, April some places down here in Mexico for turkey , June South Africa free range 120000 acres and trying to book a moose or bear hunt if you guys know a good one not too expensive but good let me know!

I'm heading to Ontario whitetail hunting from Oct 30-Nov 6. Very excited about this one as it is my first canada trip. My wife and I are going to turkey hunting in southern IL, that is if we get drawn for tags!

I can't afford to "book" a hunt anywhere. I am however working on plans for a spring turkey trip. I hope to do some hunting outside of Tx.
I may also try to get in a Javilina hunt some time late this month. All of my plans and hunting budgets are built around public land hunts. I am a blue collar guy with a family to support. So I'll fight the crowds or do my best to find low pressure public land if it is out there. Tx public land, what little there is, sucks from what I have seen. Any tips on trips are more than welcome!

I haven't hunted outside of Iowa since 1981[:o]
I would love to someday but this year I'm going to be a little busy.

Unfortunately I am sticking around this area and hunting NY and PA. I do have a lead on a new property in Steuben county, NY that apparently had 5 P&Y animals taken off it this year. Until I have the new property paid off and some other debts, I have a hard time justifying the $$$ for a guided hunt.

A bowhunter from another site has graciously offered to host my Father and I on a hunt in Eastern WY. We'll try for elk if we can draw a tag, whitetail/mulie/antelope if we can't.

Myself and a friend have booked a bow hunt for bear at Thaddeus Lake Lodge. It is about 40 miles north of Dryden Ontario. Can't wait.

Like ROb said.....he's here (NC) for Spring Gobblers.....and hopefully back here for an early season whitetail hunt (Our season opens in early Sept.). I'd love to get the Germ down for the early Fall trip....if I've got enough back yards to go around :D.

I'm also hoping ot ge tup to PA for a chance at a little bigger buck, next year. Let's hope Rob tags out on a big one.....but has an even BIGGER buck ther efor his friends to have a shot at (Sounds viable......huh????....lol). I also go into VA to trout fish....and I've been invited to go there deer hunting with my friend, again, in January. We'll see. I've had a WONDERFUL season....with a little over a week to go.

I am travelling back up to northern Quebec for caribou in late August. That is just an amazing trip and I cannot wait to get back up there in the true wilderness. I am debating going back to Colorado for elk and mulies in September, but with closing on another farm in February I probably will not have the funds for that. 2008 and 2009, now those are going to be some fantastic years!!! NM elk, Alberta black bears, and British Columbia moose. I have a count down going for the moose already:DThat is a dream hunt of mine and I can't wait for the fall of 2009 to roll around.

Well I didn't actually book a guided hunt, but me and a couple of good buddies are headed back to Prince Wales Island, Alaska next May for another do it yourself black bear hunt. Very reasonable on the pocketbook and an unbelievable amount of monster bears. Also, I'll be hunting Kansas for whitetail.

Having enjoyed Bowhunting (my 5oth year) & lucky to have Bowhunted & taken Bears, Caribou, Elk to name a few of the toughies I have to stay with the less physical. Can't HUMP them hills like I used to.
I may go for Antelope out west & I am already set up for off season hog bowhunting, probably go as always for spring Turkey & of course Whitetail in my homestate plus try to get to Ws. for Whitetail also. May sneak in another Texas Hog & Javalina Bowhunt in March plus plan on taking my Daughter on a Hog Bowhunt sometime after the 1st of the year.
This is me & wife with a Nov. Doe. Passed on several Bucks but the big boys have been staying out of range. Good Luck to all & get those expensive tough hunts out of the way-they don't get any cheaper & your body gets pretty tourn up-GET ER DONE to steal a phrase....

In sept. I'll be in montana for 2 or 3 weeks on an unguided elk hunt[bow]Then in nov. it's Ill. for a unguided bow hunt.

I just took care of the spring hunts:
Brown Bear April 1 - 25
NY turkey May 1-5
Prince of Whales Island black bear May 6-13

Fall hunts will depend on drawing permits but will include:
Aug.
Dall Sheep
Reindeer / blacktail combo

Sept.
Moose

Oct./Nov.
Brown Bear
Mountian goat

Everything in between Aug. and Dec. will be filled in with blacktail hunting.
Sometime in there I'll get the boat out for some salmon and halibut fishing and maybe I'll find time to show up for work as well.

I don't have anything booked presently, but I do plan on hunting Idaho for both Whitetails and Elk.

Chances are I may book a Hog/Javelina hunt in Texas for late summer.

I may also see about a Blacktail hunt in Oregon.

I'd like to see about a bear hunt as well, but we'll see where we are in a few months.

Greg, I may just do that. Javelinas aren't a problem, they were just one more animal I could think of to chase after!

Actually I had meant to PM you about that. It showed up yesterday afternoon, I got it all set up for him today. I had an older Martin Deerslayer sight I threw on there for him, plus my old NAP Quicktune 2000. Tossed on a loop and an extra peep I had and he's good to go.

Chances are we'll go out this weekend and do a little shooting, I told him it showed up yesterday and he's chompin' at the bit to get out and shoot it.

I'am taking two buddies out to Colorado for Elk.It should be interesting I have guided for archery but never hunted. I have always gun hunted try something differant next year.

Booked, nope not yet. But if I draw this year, I will be in Iowa whitetail bowhunting with a friend. Other than that its the usual.
