my uncle just inhareted 1700 acres of land from his father, the land is mostley made up of woods and farm fields with swamp in the biggest of the woods. The best part about this land is that is right next to the Beltrami Island state forest! So we just basically have an endless area to hunt now up in Roseau Minnesota! I am so happy!

Congratulations.

Be thankful, manypeople hunt formany of years, only ever dreaming to get a place of their own to hunt.

I know I am thankful for private land I get to hunt.

Now you have the fun part of scouting it all out for next year.

My uncle inherited land as well. The moron sold it the next week. I haven't talked to him since, not because of the hunting, but the history of the land and its hunting.

If I were you I would do some QDM. If you have the time and equipment its probably the best hobby a hunter can have besides... hunting.

well put. The only thing is I'd be weary of tresspasers. Butting up against public land has proved problems for some guys I know. Just be sure to post signs so people know. Trespassers are a problem on private against private land too i know, but that's just how people are I guess.

Remember one thing and this may keep you on the property, this is your uncle's land, not yours....treat it so.
