We are a family of 5 and usually eat 5 deer a year. If i get 5 deer in the freezer we will be down to our last bit in october when muzzle loader season rolls around.
We too ground alot and use it in everything.

Last year we ate about 200lbs of 247lbs of moose meat and in addition to that 5 deer.

Most of the deer were small BB's and doe fawns. ( I prefer the young ones)

Believe it or not, my wife won't eat any wild game, so me an the two teenage kids do. We make a ton of jerky and smoke a lot too.

I rarely eat beef. I love my venison though.

We have 7 in the freezer already and might get one or two more. We have to be careful, or we will run out before October. Needless to say, we don't buy much beef. Just a little hamburger and maybe a couple of T-bone once in the summer. I'm surprised anybody can get by on one or two deer a year.

That sounds the same with my family...though lately its gotten to the point where we're lucky to have ONE deer in the freezer :(

We'll have some steaks, have some ground up--not really picky, venison is only the best meat ever.

my family could eat 10 if we had them.... BUT we got one back in archery and it was gone about a week later... we are in NEED of some more.. hopefully this weekend prevails.. because now i know how smokers feel, and coffe drinkers feel whenever they cant have their addiction for awhile... and it sucks with no venison in the freezer!

Last year i only got one, and that lasted me and my wife until October of this year, which is when deer season starts back up. I just got the regular cuts with a lot of hamburger. We use it for everything and that saves us from having to buy any ground beef at the store. This year i have already killed one, and i got about 55 pounds of burger from that one along with the loins and steak. I do plan on taking one more doe though, and getting some sausage made and them im going to give my father some of the burger.

i am eating deer meat as i type this lol. My family ( and a few neighbors that i supply) will eat about 10 a year. We eat it with everything, and i love getting the bratwurst and summer sausage made with it ( is what i am eating now).

Our family uses all of 6-8 deer in a year. We buy very little beef.

Since I responed, earlier.....I've eaten:

Sausage, Monday morning.
Backstraps for Dinner on Tuesday.
Leftover Backstrap on Wednesday.
Lisa made a WONDERFUL venison meatloaf, last night....and....
I have leftover venison meatloaf for lunch, today.

It tastes better since I harvested it, too!

My two sons and myself eat veni for breakfast,lunch and dinner at least 4 times a week.I rarely buy meat,and never buy fish,(I like to fish too).We usually get 7-10 deer per seasion,and that keeps 2 freesers full.
