My first was with a gun and it was a doe. My first with a bow was a button. On both of these I was on the ground and my dad was looking over my shoulder.

First time I ever went hunting by myself I downed a P&Y 8 pointer 30 minutes into the hunt.

First bow kill was this year. It was a big fat doe and I couldn't be prouder. First deer was last year. I shot an eight point with muzzleloader. I shot it through the heart at 70 yards and couldn't be happier with it. It's got 6 inch g2's and a 14 inch spread--not a trophy to you guys, but a giant for me in this area. I just got another muzzleoader doeyesterday so I've got three deer now in two years of hunting. I'm 15.

1992 - 6 pt. And I was hooked 4 life. Had hunted for several years before that, but never connected until then.

Oh yeah, the doe was 150 pounds and the buck was over 200. Those are just close estimates.

My first deer was a Button buck taken in 1977 when I was 13. I got it with a 30.06

My first deer with a bow was taken in 1984, I believe. It was also a button buck. I got it with a Bear Whitetail at 15yds.

I was new to bow hunting and learn by trial and error. I remember that day clearly. I remember soaking my tennis shoes with doe-in-heat scent and walking to a permenant tree stand.( boards nailed to a tree)

I waited in that tree for about 2 hours watching the sun work its way toward the horizon. I heard a twig snap to my right and looked over and saw a deer, with its nose to the ground, following where I walked in.
My heart started thumping out of my chest. It seemed like forever as the little button buck worked its way in front of me. I tried to draw my bow but couldn't. Then I lifted it high in the air and yanked it back. I took the shot and the rest is history. I was proud of that deer. Back then, not many guys, in my area, hunted with a bow and few were successful.

My first deer was a button buck. I was 13 years old. I had two older brothers that had still never shot a deer, so I was pretty proud. It was with a PSE USA Spirit.
