how do u guys count your points do u add both sides or just one or just for example say a 4 by4 just wondring because here were i live most peaple count just one side

Personally, I learned how to add in elementary school, so I add both sides together.

A 4x4 would be an eight point.

A 3x3 would be a six point.

I get funny looks around here when I talk about the bucks I see though.

Seems that more western states are 4x4 3x3 etc. Eastern and Southern seem to go by 8 and 6 points.

It gets even more confusing when them westerners start talking about a 3x3 with eyeguards! Still an 8-point in my midwest book.

Well, here in Iowa we say 10, 12, 14 point, and so onActually I have noticed that whitetails are described as say a 10 pointer, where a mulie would be a 5x5. Thats just what I have noticed.
