i would shoot three if your bow will allow

how will i know if my bow will allow?
i shoot 56 lbs...
I would be real nervous about shooting a mechanical broadhead with a 56 pound bow. Do you know what kind of Kinetic Engergy you have with that setup? If it's less than 60 lbs KE I would stick with a fixed blade to be safe.

If you are going to shoot a mechanical with that bow I'd pick a 1 1/4" head. Stay away from the 2" cut because you won't get good penetration.

I shoot some from Gold tip, not sure what they are called but they are cheap you can pick them up on ebay for about $10-$12 for 3.

Here is another vote for the two blade Snypers, especially at your draw weight. They have a cut to the tip design and the blades slide rearward instead of camming open like most heads so the blades deploy quite easily.

I shoot and love the Innerloc EXP 100 3 blade. This boardhead has two cutting di, just by flipping the collar.

At 56 lbs I would stick with a cut on contact, fixed blade broadhead.

I shoot the 100 grain spitfires but there is something to be said about the rage expanables. I have a couple family members that shoot them and they look to work pretty darn good.

After plugging Snypers, At 56 pounds I agree with the above and ask you to stay with a quality fixed blade head.

No denying that the fixed blade works on every setup, but I'll add here that my local pro shop sells more Snypers than any other mech head they stock. Theyreadily endorsethem for guys wanting to shoot mechanicals because theypenetrate well due to how theblades deploy, even on lower poundage setups. When a guy with a low poundage setup goes in the shop looking for a mech head, they always steer the buyer towards the Snyper because they work.

My intent here is not to stir up the whole fixed/mech hornets nest, but to provide some additional insight.
