Default Arrow LENGTH????

new to the technological stuff.....but what are the advantages of a shorter arrow length? Rob/PA was down and said my arrows were too long. What do I gain by shortening them?

Thanks, in advance, for your responses.

Stiffer spine and less weight. Also shorter arrows with the same point weight and fletchings will have slightly more FOC.

Honestly if your arrows are spined correctly for your bow I wouldn't mess with them, however if they are too weak I would get them cut down some.

How much too long are they?

Honestly I don't know.....but I'd say 2"+ according to Rob.

MY thinking was......I was just starting out.....and I didn't want to have to worry about cutting my fingers with broadheads (I'm just being honest). Rob may have even mentioned 3". Some of you may be laughing.....heck I don't know. I know I'm fairly accurate with them...lol. They've worked 4 times, this year!

I want to get them right, though....for next season....and beyond.

My question is what was Rob doing down on your arrow, and then complaining about it being to long[&:]

I wouldn't screw with it tell after the season if at all.Stiffer spine could screw up your arrow flite some. If your arrows are flying good then why bother. You won't gain enough speed to make it worth while and a heavier arrow is better for penetration and helps keep the bow quiet.

Germ that is just wrong!!!!!!!!!

Jeff, if they are 2" long I would leave them be, but if they were 3" long I might think about cutting them down. But I wouldn't mess with them until after all of the seasons are over. For now stick with the girl you brought to the dance.By the way congratulations on your latest buck.
