Default LATE SEASON TACTICS

This is my first season bowhunting. I am going out tomorrow and saturday here in PA. Right Now it is our 2 week gun season. I am guessing that the rut is over. So I am wondering should I still be using a grunt tube or rattling or bleating or using scent attractants. What are somethings that work for you later in the season.

Hunting the food sources is about the only way to hunt around here, in the late season, and after the rifle hunters. The harder the winter the better. Good luck

The rut isn't over yet. Go ahead and use your grunt. It is a social call.It is a little too late to rattle though.

The bucks are all done with the does here and are resting up after chasing and breeding for the last few weeks. Not much is gonna get them up for a few days. My advice for right now, hunt the buck's bedroom...once they've had time to rest a bit, hunt those high protein food sources (acorns).

Does will still be coming into heat for a while, but in late december switch to hunting food sources...

I disagree. i would say the does are going out of heat and the bucks are starting to hit the bedding areas.

Trust me rookie, I am less than thirty miles from you and the bucks are still chasing. I've seen them.
