My First Bow Kill
#1
Let me tell you guys! I've been bow hunting for about 10 years now (on and off) I've never killed a deer with a bow (shot at a few). There is nothing like that feeling you get when you get one down, I would have to say that I'm now as excited about deer hunting (with a bow) as I am about spring turkey season. I shot this deer in the neck at 35 yards with a muzzy 100 grain, it really done the trick. Though I just about added another to the long list of misses I have, I still got him down. The deer was comeing to a MAD CALL (Buck Growel), I tried to get him to stop but I guess he had other things on his mind. I shot him while he was in a steady walk, I lead him a little but ended up hitting him right were my pin was at when I released. Guess he wasn't moving as fast as I thought. Sorry to be so long winded.

Congrats man! I got my first bow deer (a buck too) about 3 weeks ago after 8 years of trying. Feels like a monkey is lifted off your back huh? The hard work does eventually pay off...and I hear that it's really easy once you get past the first one.
Congrats again!

Plain and simple. Whoever told you that straight up lied to you.

That's right!!If it were really easy after the first one, don't you think most of us would find something else to do with our time? It's safe to say that the majority of us diehard bowhunters actually enjoy the challenge of trying to get a deer within bow range and thenmaking a quick, clean kill. It's the challenge that entices us to spend countless hours researching our quarry and countless more hours practicing our shot. etc etc.
Congrats on your buck!! Don't get down on yourself if the next one doesn't come easily!!

thanks for the posts, I plan on getting a nice set-up before next bow season. I have a really good place picked out and I plan on sitting all day or until I get the one Ive seen there in the past. You know, practice does make perfect but there is so manythings that you lear from shooting at the real thing. By no means was my shot perfect (it was lethal though). ducsauce! who are you kidding! BOWTECH? isn't your cam hitting the fork. I plan on going with the proven bow, PSE Mach X baby. Im just giveing you a hard time, you have a good bow, nice set-up, if you could only tune it and shoot it straight. Had to add that man you know how I am. Yall have a good rest of the season whiledumbies like me have no more days off. Thanks again
