Default One deer a year just isn't enough.

Considering all the preperation I do all summer, only being able to tag one deer a year just isn't doing it for me.

I'm thinking I need to expand my whitetail hunting horizons and start making at least one out of state trip per year. I don't necessarily need to shoot a buck, but it would be nice. I would actually like to hunt somewhere close enough that I could swing by and meet some of my HuntingNet friends.

Where would you folks suggest I look into going next year?

Germ, would you believe me if I said I'm only looking at out of state colleges located in states with liberal amounts of archery tags?

$39.42.

Big game license and one deer tag.

Ridiculous, isn't it?

We can apply for an antlerless only tag, but its a draw.

Your'e damn right thats crazy!

Not to brag or anything....we get 3 either-sex tags and 3 antlerless only tags.

I'm sure you could have tagged out a while ago but decided not to b/c of having only one tag.

Hey WH, you every looked into Idaho perhaps for muleys or elk? Not exactly whitetails but perhaps close enough, then perhaps Canada.

Actually I have been thinking about Idaho for elk. I live 10 minutes from the Washington/Idaho border, so it wouldn't be a long trip to get to good elk country. That would be a september hunt though, I still need something to fill the October - December gap.

Ya that's kind of a bummer.. I've killed four does already and a buck.. We are only able to kill two bucks a year total though no matter how they are harvested.. But does are pretty well unlimited when bow hunting..

I'd visit IL or IA personally, maybe northern MO....
