Default Buck Down!

Well, I've had a lot of success this season, but finally I got my buck. It's by no means a monster, but he's a trophy in my book. I went out with MO_BOW yesterday morning and hunted the back side of this cornfield. We walked back to about 70 yrds off this slough. It was a nice looking spot. Pretty open, but surrounded by thick stuff. Anyway I got into my stand a little later than i wanted to at 6:20am. I scanned the area and thought how perfect it would be if a deer came from my left, because I had a fallen down tree that i could draw when the deer got to that point. At 6:40 I scanned to my left and here comes a deer, and i noticed it was a buck.Well it got to the fallen down tree, and I drew back. The deer kept coming towards me. It finally stopped at 20 yrds, but it was quartering to me pretty hard. So i waited. It took a few more steps but was still quartering to me. Finally it took a few steps back, and i stopped him with my mouth. I released my arrow and it hit perfectly where i wanted. I saw him run off and stop at about 50 yards. I reached for my binoculars and by the time i got them i looked and he was gone. I started second guessing my shot, so i waited for an hour and then got down. I didnt find any blood, so i went to the spot where i saw him last with an arrow knocked just in case. I quietly snuck up and saw a white belly, to see that he had expired. I got my third deer of the season, and I think I'm more addicted now than I ever was!

Way to go with your first buck with a bow. Next time don't scare the crap out of him...literally.[:'(]

Now it's my turn...

How old does everyone think this deer is? It's got a 1.5 y/o rack but the body looks to be much older. It wasn't light either. I got that lesson first hand.
