Default Headed to NC (Returned, page 3)

Hey ya'll. The truck is packed, hell you'd think I was headed west for a month..lol and I'm all but ready for bed. In the morning I'm headed to North Carolina to hunt and film with SBGobblers, (Jeff) for a couple days. I won't have a chance to be on line so I wish everyone health and luck in the woods for those still at it.

If anyone enters a buck in the contest, don't fear, I'll catch it when I get back on Sunday or Monday and good luck to all of you there as well. I hope to see Team 36 on top when I return, we still have some veterans in the woods on that team but nothing is set in stone yet. Team 17 has a good lead, it doesn't show in the Score Card but they have two on the ground that are not measured and entered yet but as it stands now per the card, Team 12 is in the lead, Team 17 is 2nd but has two on the ground to enter and Team 36 is in a tight 3rd. There are plenty of teams just knocking at the door as well.

Good luck to everyone while I'm away and be safe. I'll check in when I return with a full report as well as another journal entry to write. I just bought a new digital camera so I should have some fantastic photos when I return as well. I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Jeff ahead of time, it's very generous to share your woods with me and I hope to return the favor some day. Thanks Bro,

Oddly enough, I'll miss you sum bitcches while I'm gone. I'm out.

As if the NC deer didn't have it hard enough already.... The half rack spike master just may strike again!

What part of NC are you headed to?

Good luck down there!

Hey....it's Northwestern NC....and I can ASSURE you we won't be having any "Big Buck" pics to throw all over the place! This is just a couple of friends getting together to pass some time. We'll hunt, alright....but the largest racked deer I've seen all year wouldn't go 100". I've got PLENTY of 1-1/2yr old 60" deer, though!!! I've seen....oh....19 TOTAL, this year...lol (bucks). I've seen over 150 deer on stand in 25 sittings, though.....so we should be seeing some deer.

I've got a little mission, for us. One of my co-workers is a Boy Scout Leader. He has a few scouts that are part of a TWELVE KID family. We donate our son's hand-me-downs to them every year.....and they're very appreciative of anything we give them (which WE do, anonymously). I asked, recently, if they'd take venison....and they will, gladly. I want to get them one this weekend....and get it on film. I've never been on either side of the camera, hunting.....but I think the eyepiece side is in order...being as how Rob's doing all the driving and license purchasing. We'll see how it goes.

We're gonna eat good.....drink a few....and probably sit back and realize how blessed we are when it's all over. And Ashley, my dog, will probably get her ears rubbed.

Full report from both of us.....later.

Jeff
