Recovered him 8:30 this morning, went 250 yards, no blood, 1 man grid search, a few clues, allota luck.
never took a 2nd shot because He was standing behind a holly thicket for 20 minutes, and walked directly away then turned, up towards the field, I was ready, He just walked the ONLY way that did not give Me a shot

You did a good job observing him after the shot too, and remembering what you saw. All good things to do. Great job.
Anybody can make a bad hit, but it can take serious effort to find the deer afterward.
So, did you hit the liver, stomach, intestines, or a mix of these?

Awesome Job Slackdaddy!!!!! Great job on the recovery and being patient. By the way great buck too!!!! Look forward to the story andthe meat should be fine....what were the temps last night?
