Default What do ya think??

The season ended sunday so I imagine the pressure has been pretty high the past two weeks in the area I hunt. There were hunters probaly everywhere except about 80 acres of the land I hunt. No hunters were on our land as far as we know. Do you think that the deer can feel this area as an area of not as much pressure? Can they relax here or is the surrounding pressure to high? I am going out all day thursday and will be siting in a stand that consistently produced bot does and bucks. No kills by us yet but I'm hoping thursday. Are the deer moving? Any Thoughts or past experiences greatly appreciated ...Thanks

I think deer are smart enough to figure out where there is less hunting pressure in any area. They often bed down in the thickest, hardest to access places on any given property anyway, so why can’t they find Safe haven during gun season? They move less during the day, increase during the night.

If your land is less pressured than the surrouding properties and you have some decent cover, you'll have deer bedding there. That's the wat it is on my property. All the surrounding properties are cornfields and cow pastures except 1 patch of timber. Every year the other proptery owners get out their shot guns and start blasting away. My property has 2 patches of cedars on it with another 34 acres of hard timber just planted this year. The deer come to bed on my place and go eat on theirs. When the neighbors go shooting, all we have to do is sit and wait. LOL The deer come straight for my place. We've done it that way for 4 years now and it always works.

Thats how I thought it might work too, but you gotta have that cover.

Keep 'em all in the Bull.
