Finally Got My First Bear!!!
On Monday morning I was hunting my best deer stand over looking a fresh scrape line here in one of the bow hunting only counties here inWest Virginia. Squirrels were running everywhere and I had not seen a deer. Around 8 am I here something coming in directly behind me that soundsa little heavier that a squirel. I turn around and here this guy is coming up the ridge direclty behind me. He gets right up to me and stands up on his hind legs and rubs his back against a tree. I can easily tell he is over 6 feet tall.
He ends up giving me a perfect 14 yard broadside shot. I made a perfect double lung shot with a 2-Blade Rage Broadhead and the Bear only ran about 70 yards before expiring. But just far enough to fall over a cliff. Took me 12hours to finally get him out.
He weighed 300#'s dressed with an estimated live weight of 350#'s. Should easily make P&Y.

I hunt in northern WV in rifle season, but have frinds from Wheeling that go south for bear. They've had good success but nothing like that bear. Great trophy.
